on living this faith life together

  • Things to look for …

As the world around us continues to change, those who have been students of the Bible are recognizing some of the events predicted. I am not a scholar of end times, so I won’t teach it. Like in anything else, for you and me, there is a need to take the time to read and go before and after the verses. Check the notes and scriptures noted to look up as you read. Truth is there, but the need is also there for due diligence. Many people are lost in the world’s confusion and the enemy’s lies. Know what the Bible says so you can help others find their way to truth and salvation if necessary, and recognize and accept the love God is always ready to offer.

    * *****

Jesus left the temple and was going away, when his disciples came to point out to him the buildings of the temple.  But he answered them, “You see all these, do you not? Truly, I say to you, there will not be left here one stone upon another that will not be thrown down.”

Signs of the End of the Age

As he sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?” And Jesus answered them, “See that no one leads you astray. For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and they will lead many astray. And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not alarmed, for this must take place, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places.  All these are but the beginning of the birth pains.

“Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and put you to death, and you will be hated by all nations for my name’s sake.  And then many will fall away and betray one another and hate one another.  And many false prophets will arise and lead many astray.  And because lawlessness will be increased, the love of many will grow cold.  But the one who endures to the end will be saved.  And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come. – Matthew 24:1-14 (ESV)

  • A bit of what is to come

I wrote this earlier this morning as an introduction to a personal study, which will probably be shared here. I also posted it on Facebook, so if you follow my Facebook page you’ve already seen this little bit.

As the study gets more organized, I’ll write some more. Either today, or tomorrow, or…. whenever. I have given myself permission to not be to rigid in my scheduling and enjoy again the freedom in writing as it moves me.

Then Jesus went out and departed from the temple, and His disciples came up to show Him the buildings of the temple. -Matthew 24:1 NKJV

Always know what happens before a pivotal passage. The people of the temple broke Jesus’s heart. He wanted to gather them together like little chicks under his wings….and they rejected him.
Jesus went out, and Jesus departed the temple. Departed those who chose their own way over God’s way. Departed the temple.
How many modern churches has Jesus departed from?
Disturbing thing to ponder. Truth usually is.

    Blessings my friends! – Vicki

  • Choosing to be who God created me to be

I’ve attempted different directions in the last two weeks, and discovered that I was reaching for stars that were not mine to reach for.

The blessing is that God kindly revealed it to me before I’d made some major life decisions, major life mistakes. I am grateful.

So, even though the “look” of this site is not what I particularly like, it is serviceable, and I need to start talking with you again about God. And need is the correct word. As I work on blog posts, God is speaking to me, and I’ve disconnected from that joy in Him that writing the blog brings me. And I’ve lost that sense of connection with my readers, so, this continues. The site may have other things, and the look may change as I experiment, but the faith-focused blog remains.

A specific day hasn’t been established, but maybe Wednesday is a better day. That mid-week thing we all need.

Seek God, listen for Him, trust Him to show you what you need, maybe not what you want, but what you need. He loves you more than any human could.

    Be blessed today. – Vicki

    Make a joyful noise!

Okay, I’ve got the basics down. Not so bad after all. Patience in all things, mixed with tenacity, and eventually accomplishment happens.

It’s mid to upper 80 degrees where I am. I finally turned the ceiling fan on. Probably not for long because it is a bit too cool. But when that afternoon sun blares directly on the den, it will help.

Still not sure what direction this site is going, but it is still happening. Now, let’s offer God some Worship on this Sunday in May.
