Last week I started an online daily study in the Book of James. In particular James 1:1-8. It’s not long, ten daily teaching sessions of about ten minutes, plus whatever additional study time is spent with the assignments. It is a good way to start the day.

I enjoy spending extended time focusing on just a few verses. I found this study on YouVersion. This is not a promotional blog, just saying that is one of many resources available.

It seemed appropriate for the days we live in, and have especially appreciated the “how-to” tips in gaining wisdom in this minister’s teaching. No matter how much we study, there is always more to learn. And it is so important to understand the how and why the verses describe; why He answers as He does; and grasp the joy in knowing that good really can come from any trial.

So, speaking to myself as well as to you, commit to diligently seek God, ask according to His Will, not yours, and then Count It All Joy.

Greetings.
Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. For that person must not suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.
