on living this faith life together

For this reason

For this reason, because I have heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love toward all the saints, I do not cease to give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers, that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him, having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to the working of his great might that he worked in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and above every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come. And he put all things under his feet and gave him as head over all things to the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills all in all. Ephesians 1:15-23 (ESV)

When I read through the verses above, it clearly tells me of God’s love, my privilege to love others, and the great promises God has given us through the death and resurrection of Jesus.

To know, and embrace, the reality that we have been given the Spirit of wisdom and revelation is powerful. Especially in the world today, we desperately need to grab hold of that wisdom and revelation to share with others, and to encourage ourselves.

To know that God himself encourages us in the hope He gives us, that we are assured that His power raised Christ to sit beside Him to have all things under his feet and gave Jesus head over all things of the church. Which, sometimes today, if we believe some of the reports we hear and see, Christ is no longer considered the head of the church. But the church is the body of Christ here on earth and we need to hang onto the truths given us. Hang on to the security the church offers believers as a worldwide family. Both the big C church and the little c church, connection to the church is our survival in this world as we wait to go Home.

I want to be able to say “For this reason, because I have heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love toward all the saits, I do not cease to give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers…”

Let it be so, today and every day. The Lord bless you, my friends.
